I've created a set of batch files following that guide, to semi-automate things for someone that wanted the codecs minus the bloat, and by keeping user registration data does not require any cracking.
(Disclaimer: it does not use or modify any ArcSoft code.)In reply to your Disclaimer: How come a full replacement of an ArcSoft runtime (automatically loaded by codecs if present), that hooks up activate_codec and check_codec_validity functions "does not use or modify any ArcSoft code"? This is still a full blown crack no matter the label :D.īut I guess it's easier than - How to use TMT 3 decoders in third party apps () because that it's also not supported by ArcSoft even if you should be able to do that with your legit product :mad. All you need to do is place it in the same folder as the codecs and then you can register and use them in any DirectShow player, you don't need an installation of either TMT2 or TMT3, just the codecs. This is a custom version of checkactivate.dll, which I understand people have been pulling from a TMT2 trial to use with TMT3 codecs. I can only assume that the person who wrote the code had never used the registry before and ended up mistakenly using the win.ini file without noticing, fortunately we can work around it.ġ) Open up C:\Windows\win.ini in notepad.ģ) Change the numbers to match the settings you prefer. The codec itself does not save these settings, you can only alter them manually. This is far from a perfect solution, there only seem to be 2 settings, neither of which is the bit depth, but you can change the default speaker configuration and dynamic range.
I will keep the original solution below for anyone not wanting to use it. It is a wrapper for ASAudioHD which saves the settings each time you change them. Update: I have created and attached ASAudioHD+ as an better alternative. How to save default ArcSoft Audio Decoder HD settings Now for something else useful I discovered whilst snooping around. (Disclaimer: it does not use or modify any ArcSoft code.) I wanted to use the TMT3 codecs in MPC-HC without going through all the trouble of installing TMT2 and TMT3, so I ended up creating my own solution. So I made my dad an HTPC with a HDAV1.3 Deluxe for TrueHD through analog and therefore got playing around with ArcSoft codecs.
